Requesting drone flights in the Southend FRZ/RPZ

Apply to fly a drone

If you would like to operate a drone in either the Flight Restricted Zone (FRZ), the Runway Protected Zone (RPZ) or in controlled airspace surrounding London Southend Airport, please submit an application following the steps below. Any requests to fly above 400ft must be made with the Civil Aviation Authority.

How to apply:

To apply to operate a drone, please submit an application on AirPortal at https://app.airportal.aero/. Only applications submitted through AirPortal will be accepted. Please note, it may take up to five days for approval and complex requests close to the aerodrome boundary may take longer. There is a small fee for commercial drone flight applications.
