We’re fearless! Special experience flight to take off from London Southend Airport
London Southend Airport will welcome a very special group of passengers on Saturday, January 31, 2026, as easyJet’s Fearless Flyer Course and Experience Flight takes to the skies – helping nervous flyers swap pre-flight jitters for confidence, calm and celebration.
The Fearless Flyer Course, which has already helped more than 14,000 people overcome their fear of flying, is suitable for anyone who:
- Feels anxious before or during flying;
- Avoids flying altogether;
- Wants expert-led support in a calm, reassuring environment;
- Would love to travel more confidently in the future.
Participants can complete The Ground Course – where they’ll hear from a senior easyJet captain – from the comfort of their own home in the lead-up to the Experience Flight. The course covers a range of coping techniques and strategies, as well as talking through all the misconceptions around flying, including fears of turbulence, noises, sensations, take off, landings, cross winds and more.
Reserved exclusively for course participants and their companions, the Experience Flight offers a reassuring, supportive environment designed to ease anxieties, build trust in flying, and bust a few common myths along the way as they take off for a 60-minute flight above and around London Southend Airport.
The day includes:
- A warm welcome from the Fearless Flyer team
- A dedicated check-in experience to gently guide passengers through the airport
- A specially trained cabin crew onboard the exclusive flight
- A calming relaxation session once in the air
- Live, in-cabin commentary from an additional pilot throughout the flight
- An in-air graduation ceremony
- Access to a post-course photo gallery
Support for anxious travellers extends beyond the runway. As part of its wider wellbeing initiatives, London Southend Airport is proud to work with Essex Therapy Dogs, whose friendly, four-legged team regularly visit the terminal to offer comfort, cuddles and wagging-tail welcomes to passengers and staff alike.
