Music to my ears! Airport piano returns to London Southend

Passengers at London Southend Airport can now add a little music to their journey, as a grand piano has been set up in the Departures lounge, airside just after Security.

The piano, generously donated by a member of staff – who is also a concert pianist – is there for everyone to enjoy.

A spokesperson for London Southend Airport said: “Whether you’re a seasoned musician or just fancy having a go; from classical compositions to singalong favourites, passengers are encouraged to take a seat and fill the terminal with the sound of music.”

London Southend has previously made use of pianos in the past, but they were removed during the pandemic. Now, the much-loved tradition is back, bringing a touch of spontaneity and joy to the departures experience.

If you’re passing through, why not play a tune before you fly? You might just make someone’s airport journey even more SENsational.
