Spain

Whether you’re visiting to take in Reus’s storied architecture, travelling with family, or simply in love with the local cuisine (and wine!) Reus has something special to offer everyone. And with Barcelona just along the coast, you’ll never run out of things to do!

Ready to pack your bags? Here’s our ultimate 3-day guide to making the most of your trip when you fly to Reus with London Southend Airport

*London Southend Airport does not recommend eating great food before getting on a roller coaster.

Day 1: PortAventura World and Ferrari Land

An authentic Ferrari experience full of emotion, adrenaline, and fun in the Costa Dorada region

Reus’s proximity to PortAventura World makes it a must-visit for thrillseekers. With rollercoasters, water rides, and immersive themed adventures, this massive park has something for everyone.

Start your day early – there’s a lot to pack in! Brace yourself for the legendary Shambhala, one of Europe’s tallest and fastest coasters, or test your nerve on Dragon Khan, with its eight dizzying loops. Prefer something tamer? The park offers plenty of gentler rides, including a Sesame Street-themed area perfect for younger visitors.

For even more excitement, grab a ticket that includes Ferrari Land, PortAventura’s high-octane neighbour. Home to Red Force – the tallest and fastest vertical accelerator in Europe – this adrenaline-fueled experience brings the world of Ferrari to life.

Day 2: Explore Reus

Flights to Reus with easyJet

Reus is practically bursting at the seams with cool cultural spots, history, and delicious food and drink. Start your second day by grabbing a coffee at the aptly named Café de Reus, a perfect little spot tucked away from the hustle and bustle, ideal for some relaxed morning people-watching.

Next, take a wander through Plaça del Mercadal, the vibrant square that truly captures the heart of this city. Not only will you find the stunning City Hall and the Gaudí Centre here, but this is the place to be if you want to soak up the local vibe. Once you’ve taken it all in, grab a seat, order a vermouth – the local speciality – and watch the world go by.

From there, hit up Casa Navàs, an architectural masterpiece that’ll make you feel like you’ve stepped back in time. With its jaw-dropping stained-glass windows and intricate carvings, this Modernist beauty is the perfect place for some Instagram-worthy photos. Don’t forget to book a guided tour for the full experience!

You’re not done yet. Make your way to Institut Pere Mata, a stunning Modernist hospital that feels more like a magical garden retreat than a place for treatments. Get lost in the beauty of the pavilions and the lush surroundings. It’s like stepping into a storybook.

By now, you’ll be feeling pretty hungry. Lucky for you, Reus is packed with fantastic food. For lunch, might we recommend Vermuts Rofes for some seriously tasty Catalan tapas. From grilled vegetables to a comforting plate of fideuà (paella made with noodles), you’ll be in foodie heaven.

For dinner, if you’re in the mood for a cozy, authentic vibe, head over to L’Estel de Reus. This local favourite serves up hearty Catalan dishes in a welcoming atmosphere that’ll make you feel right at home. Don’t miss their botifarra (Catalan sausage) – it’s a classic for a reason!  Then cap off your day with a show at the grand Teatre Fortuny. Perfecció.

Day 3: Unwind on the Costa Dorada

Ready to wind down and soak up some sun? After two action-packed days, it’s time to slow things down with a day on the Costa Dorada. With golden beaches stretching along the Mediterranean, it’s perfect for a day of relaxation.

Start your morning with a leisurely breakfast at a beachfront café, then head to Salou, just south of Reus on the coast and only a 20-minute drive away. Here, you can rent a sunbed, dive into the crystal-clear waters, or just stroll along the beach with the sea breeze in your hair. For a more tranquil experience, head over to the nearby Cala Crancs – a beautiful, quiet beach perfect for swimming and sunbathing.

If you’re feeling adventurous, why not try some water sports? From paddleboarding to jet skiing, there’s no shortage of ways to get your adrenaline pumping. After a fun-filled morning, treat yourself to a delicious seafood lunch at a beachside restaurant – fresh paella is a must-eat!

Spend the afternoon exploring the charming coastal towns along the Costa Dorada. Cambrils is just a short drive away, and it’s full of cobbled streets, lovely shops, and traditional Spanish charm. Or, if you’re in the mood for a bit more adventure, go on a boat trip along the coast for some stunning views of the Mediterranean.
