London Southend Airport 2025 Wrapped
A year in numbers
London Southend Airport has lifted the lid on its biggest numbers of 2025, and it’s been a year packed with take-offs, touchdowns and pre-flight pints!
From over half a million passengers to thousands of flights, bags and bookings, when it comes to easy, speedy, friendly travel, London ‘SENsational’ Southend always delivers.
So let’s get straight to the numbers.

Over 600,000 passengers passed through our terminal
By October, more than 600,000 passengers had travelled through London Southend Airport.
That’s half a million journeys all starting in one place – from sun-seekers chasing warmth and city-break lovers chasing culture, to families heading off together and solo travellers going wherever the mood takes them.
And for many, the journey started well before arrival day. Throughout 2025, 588,227 people visited the London Southend Airport website to plan trips, check routes and get ready to fly. From there, 265,476 travellers clicked through to airline partners, turning browsing into bookings and “one day” into departure day.
24,500 flights took to the skies
A year this busy needed serious runway action – and 2025 delivered.
Across the year, 24,500 flights departed and arrived at London Southend Airport, carrying passengers across Europe and back again. Keeping everything moving were 16.3 million litres of aviation fuel, powering journeys from taxiway to take-off and all the way to cruising altitude.
And, of course, those flights came with luggage. 347,213 bags were checked in, loaded up and reunited with their owners at the other end – because wherever people go, suitcases are never far behind.

Nearly 18,000 pints were poured
Hey – we get it!
In 2025, 17,724 pints were poured at London Southend Airport.
Let’s be honest – your holiday doesn’t start at the destination. It begins with a perfectly timed, completely justified pre-flight pint the second you’re through security. And rightly so! But that wasn’t the only way passengers relaxed.
1,100 SKYLIFE Lounge bookings gave passengers space to sit back, settle in and pretend emails don’t exist for a little while longer. 16,718 items were purchased at the airport, from pre-flight snacks to portable chargers.
Different starts, same result – travellers already in holiday mode before boarding was even called.
Ready. Set. Fly.

235,000 passengers travelled by train
The journey didn’t start at the terminal doors either.
In 2025, 235,000 passengers arrived at London Southend Airport by train, turning the trip to the airport into part of the experience, not just something to get through.
And for those arriving by car, 17,700 vehicles were parked over the year – pull up, lock up, head for Departures.
37,194 people came for travel advice
Before the packing comes the planning. In 2025, 37,194 travellers headed to London Southend Airport’s Travel Hub looking for answers, tips and tricks before they flew.
Whether it was checking entry requirements, sorting parking, brushing up on travel rules or finding a little destination inspiration, the Travel Hub became a go-to stop for travellers who like to arrive prepared – and stress-free.

Awards, growth and plenty to be proud of
2025 wasn’t just busy – it was recognised.
London Southend Airport picked up a Routes Award, celebrating its growing network and momentum. Meanwhile, the airport’s Jet Centre saw a 20% increase in revenue, reflecting strong demand from business and private aviation travellers.
Passenger satisfaction stayed high throughout the year too, showing that the experience on the ground mattered just as much as the destinations beyond it.
That’s a wrap for 2025
2025 was a year defined by big numbers and even bigger journeys, with countless trips starting long before take-off. That was 2025 at London Southend Airport, and it was a very good year to get away.
Now, we’re off for a well-deserved 17,725th pint.
