London Southend Airport nominated for Best Route Development award at Routes Europe 2025
London Southend Airport is proud to announce its nomination for the esteemed Best Route Development Award in the ‘Under 5 Million Passengers’ category at Routes Europe 2025.
This recognition highlights the airport’s continued commitment to airline partnerships, innovative marketing to support airline success, and strategic route development with data and analysis, reinforcing its position as a key gateway for travel in the UK.
Nigel Mayes, Business Development Director, expressed his enthusiasm for being shortlisted.
He said: “We are thrilled to be recognised for our efforts in route development at such a prestigious industry event. This nomination underscores our dedication to enhancing connectivity, forging strong airline relationships and delivering exceptional service for both passengers and airline partners.
“London Southend is uniquely positioned to offer immediate capacity for airlines looking to expand their network into the world’s largest aviation market.”
The winners of the Routes Europe Awards will be announced during the Networking Evening on 9 April in Seville.
The nomination comes after a string of recent successes for the already award-winning airport, including a milestone 20th destination with the launch of Newquay (NQY) in partnership with Eastern Airways, and the highly anticipated opening of easyJet’s 10th UK base in March.
