To connect to the tube in London, change at Stratford Station for London Overground, Central Line, DLR – including direct journeys to London City Airport – or the Jubilee Line. You can also change at London Liverpool Street for the Hammersmith & City Line, Circle Line, Metropolitan Line, Central Line or Elizabeth Line.
Standard London Underground operating hours are between 05:00 – 00:00 Monday to Saturday (including public holidays) and 07:00 – 23:00 on Sunday. Please check timetables for the latest information.
Night Tube service
A 24 hour Night Tube service is available on Fridays and Saturdays between:
- Central – between Ealing Broadway to Loughton
- Jubilee – between Stanmore to Stratford
- Northern – between Edgware/High Barnet to Morden
- Piccadilly – between Cockfosters to London Heathrow Terminals 2, 3 and 5
- Victoria – between Brixton to Walthamstow Central
- London Overground – between New Cross Gate to Highbury & Islington

How do I get to London Southend Airport from London Underground services?
You can take any of the following lines to London Liverpool Street: Circle, Central, Hammersmith & City or Metropolitan. Once at London Liverpool street, change for National Rail services and take the Greater Anglia service towards Southend Victoria, and disembark at Southend Airport station.
Alternatively, you can take the Central or the Jubilee line to Stratford and change to the Greater Anglia service for Southend Airport station.
Is London Southend Airport in the Oyster or contactless zone?
No, the Oyster/contactless zone ends at Shenfield, where a valid ticket will be required to continue your journey to the airport.
How far is Central London from the Airport?
Central London is 41 miles away and can be reached in all manner of ways; however, we certainly recommend the easy breezy option of the train from Southend Airport station. Arrive at London Liverpool Street in only 53 minutes.

Can I use my Freedom Pass to and from the airport?
The Freedom Pass is only valid within the London zones; an extension ticket will be required from the boundary zone to the Airport.
