News

Baby, it’s cold outside – but London Southend is heating things up with its biggest winter flying schedule since 2019!

Starting this Sunday, October 26, more than 360,000 seats will be on sale from your easy, speedy, friendly airport – the highest in six years – to book between November and March 2026.

Plus six additional destinations are joining the line-up, including Barcelona, Berlin, Grenoble, Lanzarote, Rovaniemi and Salzburg, all operated by airline partners, easyJet.

That means even more flights for people wanting to explore some of Europe’s finest cities, hit the slopes or seek some winter warmth.

New winter schedule:

  • Barcelona – the home of Catalonian culture bursts onto the schedule from November 6, flying up to three times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Berlin – Germany’s cool capital follows suit from November 7, flying Mondays and Fridays for a twice-weekly service, perfect for a long weekend or Christmas market city break escape.
  • Lanzarote – for the sunworshipper! Flights begin on October 29, running Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
  • Rovaniemi (Lapland) – home of Santa himself! Launching December 1, with flights twice-a-week on Mondays and Fridays, great for a travellers looking for a magical Arctic adventure.
  • Salzburg – winter sports fans can shred snow on the Austrian Alps and Mozart’s home city, flying Saturdays from December 6.
  • Grenoble – ideal for French Alps skiing and snowboarding, with a weekly flight every Sunday from December 14.

And it doesn’t stop there. The majority of London Southend’s summer network is also sticking around for winter.

In Spain, services to Malaga (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) and Palma (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays) will run through until next March, as will the existing two Canaries flights to Tenerife (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) and Gran Canaria (Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays).

Routes taking travellers to Africa include flights to Marrakech in Morocco and Enfidha in Tunisia (both Tuesdays and Saturdays), while golfers looking for some winter fairway fun will be able to fly to year-round golf destinations of Antalya (Mondays and Thursdays) and Faro (Mondays and Fridays).

Rounding off the routes running through from the summer is Malta, which will be operated twice-weekly (Wednesdays and Sundays).

These join returning favourites Alicante, Amsterdam, Geneva and Paris, all continuing through winter 2025/26.

Back for a second season is the magical Santa’s Lapland charter flight to Ivalo, Finland. Passengers can discover ‘a Christmas like no other’ on this festive flight, which departs on 21 December and brings you home all Christmassy in time for the big day!

London Southend’s CEO Jude Winstanley said: “This winter marks a real milestone for our award-winning airport. With 283% more seats on offer than last year, and a mix of brand-new routes alongside returning favourites, we’re giving passengers more choice than ever before – whether they’re heading for the ski slopes, chasing winter sun or planning a festive escape.
