With up to six services an hour during peak times and easy connections to the tube network, you’ll be in Central London in under an hour, and can get to Stratford even faster.

Southend Airport station
One of the quickest, simplest ways to get to and from London Southend Airport is by train, thanks to our modern, purpose-built train station just 100 steps from the terminal.
Buying a ticket
It couldn’t be easier to buy your train ticket at the airport or the station. Ticket vending machines are available in arrivals, just before you exit the terminal and in the train station. We look forward to introducing contactless payments at our station in future.
Ticket office
The ticket office is manned every day from 06.00-23.00 including bank holidays. Self-service ticket machines at the station are available 24 hours a day.

20 minutes to London Underground connections
To connect to the tube in London, change at Stratford for London Overground, Central Line, DLR – including direct journeys to London City Airport – or the Jubilee Line. Or, you can change at London Liverpool Street for the Hammersmith & City Line, Circle Line, Metropolitan Line, Central Line or Elizabeth Line.
Elizabeth Line
The Elizabeth Line provides passengers with new convenient links from Essex and Central London – with stops at Shenfield, Stratford and London Liverpool Street – to Paddington and beyond, making it easier than ever to connect to other London airports. Change at Farringdon for trains to Gatwick or Luton, or change at Paddington to the Elizabeth Line service that travels directly to Heathrow.
Connections from c2c
Getting to London Southend Airport via train is convenient and efficient; if you live or work near a c2c train station, connection to the airport via Southend Central is easy.
We recommend alighting at Southend Central before walking 10 minutes along the High Street to reach Southend Victoria station. Hop on here for another short train journey to our on-site airport railway station.

- Grays (GRY) to LSA: 55 minutes
- Barking (BKG) to LSA: 57 minutes
- Chafford Hundred (CFH) to LSA: 59 minutes
- Dagenham Dock (DDK) to LSA: 1 hour 22 minutes (change at Barking)
Connections from c2c Southend Central station:
By bus: Take the X30 bus which runs hourly, or the number 9 bus which runs roughly every 12 minutes to the airport. Bus tickets currently cost £2 per adult for a single journey. The bus stop is outside the Southend Travel Centre.
By train: Take the 10-minute walk up Southend High Street to Southend Victoria and take a Greater Anglia service to London Southend Airport station.
By taxi: A taxi will take between 6 – 12 minutes, and there are taxi ranks right outside Southend Central station.

It couldn’t be more convenient to take the train. Our railway station is just 100 steps away, opposite the main terminal building, through the covered walkway.

The Freedom Pass is only valid within the London zones; an extension ticket will be required from the boundary zone to the Airport.
